Aperture iris diaphragm – G
Set the value of the aperture iris diaphragm to match the numeric aperture value of the objective you are using. Each time you use a different objective you'll have to reset this control! The iris diaphragm controls the diameter of the cone of light coming through the condenser and provides a perfect depth of focus for thin sections. For thick specimens, or whole mounts decrease the value of the aperture iris diaphragm to increase the depth of field. Use the highest value with the 100X objective.
